There are many ways to show motion in a photograph.
Capturing movement in a still image, involves various camera techniques, depending on the scenario and your creative vision.

Long exposure
This image was created using a long exposure of 3 seconds and a strobe light using rear sync flash.

Light Trails
I love creating light trails. A good vantage point and slow shutter speed, is essential for creating these images.
A tripod is a must when using a very low shutter speed to ensure no blur, I also use a remote trigger to eliminate the possibility of camera shake.
